Built for tradespeople who need genuine all-day protection without the dead weight of a steel toe, the 398590-BBG brings together everything that's made the Southern Cross a go-to across UK construction, utilities, and heavy industry — now with a lightweight composite safety toe that passes the same 200-joule impact standard as its steel equivalent.
At 150mm ankle height with a scalloped, padded collar, it moves with you rather than fighting you on a long shift. The industrial-grade side zip means you're in and out in seconds, while the lace closure lets you dial in the fit precisely. Premium water-resistant nubuck leather keeps the elements out, and the abrasion-resistant scuff cap protects the toe from the daily knock-about that kills cheaper boots early.
Underneath it all is Steel Blue's Trisole® Comfort Technology — the Ortho Rebound® polyurethane footbed and strategically placed Poron® pads work together to cushion your feet, knees, hips, and lower back from shift-long fatigue. The Baltico moisture-wicking lining keeps things dry from the inside, and the TPU outsole is heat-resistant to 130°C, oil-resistant, and SRC-rated for slip resistance on both wet ceramic and steel surfaces — tested to EN ISO 20345.

Do you offer next day delivery?
Yes we do, for £6.50 and if you order before 2pm, you’re order should arrive the next day with Royal Mail or Parcel force.
Boot orders over £110 get free next day delivery. Steel Blue Boots and Mongrel Boots get free express postage.
How do I return or exchange my items?
We recommend for any exchanges, you should purchase the size you're after and then return your current pair for a refund. This will save time for your new item to arrive.
We offer free returns and exchanges as we know it's difficult to buy clothing and boots online.

Do you ship to Europe and Ireland?
Unfortunately not, we do ship to Northern Ireland however due to brexit and the complications with shipping and then duties costs, we find it better for customers to try and find a local supplier as it will save you money on duties.
Northern Ireland customers do not have to pay duties as you’re part of the United Kingdom and postage is the same as the mainland.
My boots are faulty within the 6 month warranty period, what do I need to do to submit a claim?
